Increasingly, designs for NZ homes include waterproof or floating decks, which require specially designed balustrade fixings that do not compromise the waterproof membrane.
A special gutter bracket fitting is available for installing most of the Juralco balustrade systems on waterproof or floating decks and has proven to be a very effective solution. Balustrade posts are fixed directly onto the gutter bracket, before installation and the bracket is fixed to boundary joists, away from the waterproof membrane and finished with a general gutter system that drains the water away.
The Juralco gutter bracket is an easy fix system, secured before any overhang or drip angles are fitted, with moisture fins included to deflect any moisture run off into the gutter.
Juralco gutter brackets comply with the NZ building regulation EZ/AS1 requirement that all balustrading for waterproof decks must be face fixed and conform to the AS/NZS1170 standard. Brackets are available for all face fixed balustrades including the Viking, Edge and Edgetec Mini Post range but not the Edgetec JH Clamp system. They are powder coated to match the balustrade posts for a consistent finish.
